Day Nine brought us to Alberta, the province that helped inspire this road trip.

We hoped to meet Minister Dale Nally, but even without that meeting, Alberta gave us plenty to talk about. We easily found nicotine pouches, including flavoured and Canadian-made products — all outside the legal retail framework created by the federal Ministerial Order.

After nine days and thousands of kilometres across five provinces, we saw illicit products, strong demand, inconsistent enforcement and very different markets from province to province.

The road trip may be over, but our work isn’t. We have stories, evidence and plenty more to share.
