Today, we officially submitted our thoughts to Health Canada’s Third Legislative Review of the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act (TVPA).
Our message was clear: the current framework is failing Canadians. By lumping vaping and other safer nicotine products under outdated tobacco rules, the TVPA is doing a disservice to the very people it should be helping adults who smoke looking for better alternatives. Instead of supporting innovation, truth, and harm reduction, the Act fuels confusion, empowers misinformation, and drives people toward unregulated markets.
We are calling for real change. Canada needs a modern, evidence-based approach: a Safer Nicotine Act that regulates reduced-risk products fairly, transparently, and in line with science. Canadians deserve access to accurate information, safer options, and policies that put public health above politics.
This submission is just one step, but it’s an important one. We will continue to speak up until Canada’s laws reflect both the evidence and the needs of the millions of Canadians who deserve better.
